HOW
MUCH DO THE SHOES COST?
Custom shoes start at about $850 for a
very basic molded shoe. Smilers start at about $1100, Crooners
at $1200 , and Footgloves at $1400. Speciality Shoes and
Personal Shoe Designs can cost between $1800 and $2500. There
is also a first-pair charge to take the molds, make the lasts,
and do the necessary fittings ranging from $275 to $395. A 75%
deposit is taken when the order is placed, and the balance is
due on the initial dispensing.
DO THE SHOES LOOK UGLY?
Comfort and style are often at odds with
one another, and the best pair of shoes is often a perfect
compromise between the elements of fit, therapy, and fashion.
Making attractive shoes for severely misshapen feet can be
challenging and expensive, and we always do our best to
obscure problems and design shoes that will look as much like
store bought shoes as possible. The lower cost shoes reflect
less emphasis on cosmetic factors, while the more expensive
ones reflect the extra time needed to emphasize cosmoses.
WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR YOUR
SERVICES?
If
you have diabetes, there is a good likelihood of insurance
reimbursement. Check with your insurance provider to see if
therapeutic footwear is included in your benefits. We do not
bill insurance companies directly, except for Workers
Compensation claims and Kaiser Permanente, with whom we are a
contracted provider. Both require prior authorization.
WILL I BE SOLD SOMETHING I DON'T
NEED?
Absolutely not. We are professionals,
and we look for the most cost-effective ways to solve your
foot and gait problems.
DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR
WORK?
We completely stand behind our products
for quality, craftsmanship, and for correctly filling your
prescription. Comfort, however, is very subjective, and we
cannot promise to overnight solve problems that have taken
years to develop. We do promise to do our best and can
guarantee at least an improvement in your comfort.
DO YOU TAKE ORDERS BY MAIL?
Yes, but if you are unable to come to
San Francisco, it is necessary to go to a Podiatrist,
Pedorthist, or Orthotist in your area to have the molds taken
and the order placed. Billing will usually be done through
your practitioner, however, you may want to just pay for
visits and deal with us directly. Call our office for details. |
