S M I L E R S: Our lowest priced line of shoes are styled to look similar to commercial shoes found in comfort shoe stores. They are made of soft leathers, with crepe wedge soles and padded top lines, and they lace up the front over a thick padded tongue. Each shoe comes with its own custom molded innersole orthotic designed to align the bones of your feet for optimum function, comfort, and protection. They can be made in several colors and soling variations.

C R O O N E R S: Whereas Smilers are unisex, Crooners can be identified as either men’s or women's shoes. We've given them names like Bing and Frank, Ella and Dinah. Crooners make you want to sing!

F O O T G L O V E S: These styles are considered dress casuals and are made with fine leathers like calfskin, kid, or fine suede. Footgloves are definitely dressier than Smilers and Crooners, and they maintain the same soft crepe soles, as well as a comfortably shaped toe-box. They have pizzazz and are built for function and comfort.
 

S P E C I A L I T Y S H O E S: These would include Golf Shoes, Work Boots, Hiking Shoes and Boots, Riding Boots, or any other footwear that must be designed to meet activity criteria.

CUSTOM ORTHOTIC DEVICES
Custom Orthotic Devices balance your feet to the ground the way eyeglasses focus your vision. Whereas over-the-counter devices would be akin to drug store glasses, Prescription Orthotic Devices are made to the individual specifications of each foot. After casting the foot with each of its primary joints aligned, a device is fabricated over a positive mold. Its purpose is to act as an interface between the foot in its optimum position for function and the flat inside surface of the shoe. Many specialists, such as Podiatrists, Pedorthists, Orthotists, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Sports Medicine Physicians provide orthotic devices. Davis Shoe Therapeutics (unlike other practitioners who use outside laboratories) fabricate our devices on our premises. This allows us to easily fine-tune the devices for comfort and shoe fit before they are dispensed.

Therapeutic Modifications to Commercial Shoes
When someone visits our facility for a consultation, our primary focus is to solve their foot problems in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. Often that choice is to modify their existing commercially made footwear to address a multitude of foot or fit problems. The following lists a few of the things we can do as an alternative to expensive custom made products:

• add cosmetic elevations for leg-length discrepancies

• improve fit and comfort for minor foot shape abnormalities

• stabilize shoes to keep them from turning over or wearing out too rapidly

• stop painful motion in the joints and relieve tendonitis in the muscles

• attenuate shock to the muscular skeletal system

• facilitate foot entry and exit from the shoes

ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSES AND BRACE BOOTS :

AFO’S are braces that use the leg to stabilize the foot. As Pedorthists, we believe an AFO must fundamentally act as a proper foot orthotic device. We therefore pay close attention to the foot comfort position and the integration of the brace with the footwear.

BRACE BOOTS are custom made boots with braces built into the linings. In certain cases, the combined unit provides superior protection and support.
